I bought a pair of slicks (thanks Eisho) and went to the track on Saturday. It was my first time running slicks so I didn't know what to expect. I made a few passes and was able to launch pretty well. My best 60 foot was 1.71, which isn't that great, but considering I have the .86 housing and can't make boost for shit out of the hole that is pretty good. I bought the techtom 460 ll, and that will help my 60 foot a lot, by being able to make boost at the starting line and shift at full throttle. I'm expecting 1.5ish 60's. After every launch I could not get my tranny into second, its like it would lock me out, I had to wait till the rpm's came down to like 3k before it would go in second gear. Long story short, this is the 4th tranny in 4 months. Last night, as I’m leaving a new years party, my tranny would not go in any gear. After much frustration, I was able to get it in second which is pretty ironic considering how much trouble it gave me at the strip. So I limp my way home 20 miles in second gear. I don't know what happened, but I know one thing, I'm getting sick of pulling my tranny. I'm getting ready to forget my goal of getting in the 10's with a five speed and buy sz built auto. IMHO, the z32 tranny is weak, I know some will disagree with me, but I say this from personal experience, the z32 tranny can't handle big power, reliably. BTW, this tranny was in the car for less then a week. This has been a terrible start to my new year, but I look at the bright side, how much worse can it get?
